Teleprompter

The teleprompter is how the reader keeps up with you during a session. It's not a separate mode you switch on, it's built into every Listen and Perform session: the active line pins near the top of the screen and the script scrolls automatically as the scene plays out, so your eyes stay up instead of hunting for your place.

How it works

As soon as you start a session, the current line is highlighted and scrolls to the top of the reader, then the next line takes its place as the scene moves on. What drives that pacing depends on the mode:

• Perform (paid) - speech recognition listens to you and cues the next line the moment you finish speaking, so the scroll follows your actual voice.
• Listen (free) - there's no microphone involved. The reader advances on its own pace: it reads lines aloud and/or leaves a gap for yours, depending on your "My lines" setting.

Word tracking

In Perform mode you can also turn off/on Word tracking, in the Settings popover's Perform group, to underline each word as the app recognises you saying it, not just the line as a whole.
