Load your script

Option 1: Import a file

import-your-script

From the dashboard, tap New script and choose Import file. Drag and drop or select a file from your device - PDF, image (PNG, JPEG, HEIC), or audio (WAV, MP3), up to 30 MB. The app will scan the file and prepare it for rehearsal automatically.

Option 2: Paste your script

paste-your-script

If your script is in an email or text file, you can paste the text directly. From your dashboard, tap New script and choose Paste text. Paste your scene (plain text or Fountain-formatted) and the app will structure it into scenes, characters, and dialogue for you.

Option 3: Generate a scene with AI

Don't have a script yet? Tap New script and choose Generate a scene to have AI write one for you, ready to rehearse right away.

Review and fix formatting

Once your file is loaded, take a moment to scroll through the whole script and check that everything looks right. If you spot a mistake, for example if dialogue is marked as action or a character name is missing its tag, you can fix it two ways: double-click the line to edit it directly, or click the three dots next to the line to open its options and reassign the correct type.

review-and-fix-formatting

Each line in your script should be labelled as one of the following:

  • Act - marks a major section (e.g., Act I)
  • Scene - scene headings (e.g., INT. COFFEE SHOP - DAY)
  • Direction - physical description or stage direction, not read aloud
  • Dialogue - the actual line a character says, carrying its own speaker (there's no separate "Character" line, click the name shown above a dialogue line to assign or fix its speaker)

Make sure character names are spelled the same throughout and that each line of dialogue is correctly linked to the right speaker.

For detailed formatting rules, see Script formatting.
