Chat to Coach is your acting assistant built right into Act-on-cue. Whether you need help analyzing a scene, developing your character, or getting performance feedback, the Coach is ready to guide you through every aspect of your rehearsal.
What can Chat to Coach help with?
The Coach provides personalized support across different areas:
- Scene Analysis - Break down your script, understand context, and explore subtext
- Character Development - Build your character's backstory, motivations, and relationships
- Performance Tips - Get feedback on delivery, emotions, and acting techniques
- General Questions - Ask anything about your script, rehearsal, or acting in general
How to open the chat
In the top-right corner of the editor, you'll see a "Rehearse" button. Click on it and select "Analysis" from the dropdown menu. This will open the Acting Coach panel where you can start a conversation.
Selecting your character
Before starting a chat, you'll need to select which character you're playing. This helps the Coach provide personalized advice specific to your role.
You can change your character anytime using the character selector at the bottom of the chat.
Starting a conversation
There are two ways to start chatting:
1. Use chat starters
When you first open the chat, you'll see pre-made conversation starters organized by topic. These are great starting points tailored to common acting needs:
- Tap any starter to instantly begin that type of conversation
- The Coach will ask follow-up questions to understand your specific needs
2. Ask your own question
Type any question in the "Ask anything" input field at the bottom. The Coach understands natural language, so just ask what you need help with.
Viewing chat history
All your conversations are automatically saved and organized by topic. To view your chat history, find the three-dot menu in the top of the chat and select the chat history button to see your past chats or continue previous conversations.
Tips for getting the best results
- Be specific - The more details you provide, the better the Coach can help
- Ask follow-ups - Don't hesitate to dig deeper or ask for clarification
- Try different approaches - If one question doesn't work, rephrase and try again
