Script imported incorrectly

If your script didn't import the way you expected - maybe the speaker names are off, a character is missing, the lines got jumbled, or the formatting didn't carry through - don't worry. You can fix it right inside the app.

📘 Use the formatting guidelines

We recommend following our Formatting guidelines to know how to properly set-up your script.

✅ Quick fixes

Speaker names not recognized? Make sure they're in all caps, followed by a line e.g.

SARAH
(smiles)
Hello there

Stage directions showing up as dialogue? Wrap them in parentheses e.g.

Before:

SARAH
Enters the room
Hello there

After:

SARAH
(Enters the room)
Hello there

Extra line breaks? Remove unnecessary empty lines to tighten the flow. Each dialogue block should be separated by an empty line.

🧠 Pro tip

Even if your script isn't perfect on import, small adjustments go a long way. Once you've made edits, the AI will respond more naturally - and your scene will play out exactly as intended.
