Quick Demo: How to Rehearse a Scene

Struggling to stay consistent with line prep? You’re not alone. Act on Cue is here to simplify the process and make rehearsals feel like second nature. Whether you're gearing up for an audition or just want to stay sharp, this app gives you control over how you practise—with custom settings, an AI scene partner, and intuitive line-learning tools. Here’s a quick walkthrough to help you get started.

Step 1: Load Your Script

Sign in with your email or Google account.

Choose an existing script, or hit Create One to upload a PDF, paste copied text, or type a new one directly in the app.

For this demo, we’re using a script that’s already been uploaded.

Step 2: Customise Your Rehearsal

Inside the Rehearse Mode, tap the settings icon to open your rehearsal controls.

You can select your character, and even set a short countdown to give yourself a few seconds before the scene begins.

Turn on Line Learning to help with memorisation. You can choose to show three words or just three letters of each word from your lines.

Want more space to think? Add a delay of up to 5 seconds after each AI line. This is great for pacing or tackling trickier sections.

Step 3: Fine-Tune the Experience

Go deeper with extra options: choose from a wide range of AI voices for your scene partners. Adjust the text size and enable word tracking for easier reading.

Customise what appears on-screen—toggle headings, actions, parentheticals, or transitions depending on what helps you stay focused.

Step 4: Start Rehearsing

When you’re happy with your setup, close the settings and tap Rehearse.

As you speak your lines, the app follows along and highlights the text in real time.

Your AI partner responds naturally, creating a smooth, responsive back-and-forth rhythm—like working with another actor on cue.
