READER
Here's your first cue. Listen, then say your line.
YOU
This is my response to the cue.
READER
Good. Here's your second cue.
YOU
And I respond again, right on cue.
READER
That's it. You learn when to speak, not just what to say.

Rehearsal time is not for line learning

Feeds cues automatically
- The app plays the lines before theirs and waits for them to respond.
Hide and reveal
- Lines gradually disappear as students get more confident. From full text to fully off-book.
Cue Mode
- Audio-only drilling that trains cue recognition. Each actor learns exactly when to speak, and only their part.
Multi-character
- Works for scenes with any number of characters. Each actor picks their role and drills their lines.
Line learning for your whole cast
Visual mode hides and reveals lines on screen. Cue Mode drills through audio, feeding cues and prompting actors to speak out loud. Every actor learns only their part.

Your questions, answered
Feel free to contact us with your ideas or questions!
Can I share one script with my whole cast?
Yes. Upload the script and share the link. Each cast member picks which character they're playing and drills their own lines and cues.
Does it work on school devices?
Yes. It runs in any modern browser, no install or IT setup needed. Works on Chromebooks, iPads, phones, and laptops.
What is Cue Mode?
Cue Mode plays only the lines before an actor's part, training them to recognise their cue and respond. If there are 100 lines in the play and an actor has just 1 line, they learn exactly when to speak and only their line.
How much does it cost?
Free to start. Rehearsal sessions cost from $0.35/hr, a fraction of what a real reader charges. See our pricing page for full details.
Do you offer a school or educational discount?
Yes. If you are an educator, get in touch and we will arrange an appropriate discount for your school or institution.
Can students use it on their phones?
Yes. It works on any device with a browser. There is also a dedicated iOS app for iPhone and iPad.
Can I use it during rehearsals?
ActOnCue is designed for individual practice outside of rehearsals, like homework. Your cast learns their lines and cues at home, so rehearsal time is spent on performance, not memorisation.
Do I need to set up accounts for my students?
No. You upload the script and share the link. Students create their own free account to get started.
What age group is this for?
Anyone old enough to read a script. Used in secondary schools, drama schools, university productions, and community theatre.
