Free · iOS & online
The App for learning lines, self-tapes, script rehearsals, actor prep, listening to scripts, auditions, memorizing lines, table reads, scene study, running your lines, and actors.
Learn your lines, rehearse with a reader that responds on your cue, and record your self-tape - in the iOS app or online in any browser. Drop a script and start in under a minute.

Know your lines. By tomorrow.
Learn your lines with proven memorization techniques. Hide your lines behind first-letter prompts and reveal them with a tap, or let the reader speak your lines and leave a gap for you to fill. Loop the scene till it sticks.
Active recall
Drop your lines to first-letter prompts and mnemonics, then reveal each word with a tap. Hide them again and test yourself until you're off-book.
Fill the gap
The reader speaks the cue, then leaves a gap for your line. Say it back out loud before the reader moves on.
Cue mode
- Drill only your part. Pick just the lines you need and learn your cues, the lines that tell you you're up next.
Interactive
- Roleplay as a specific character and the reader moves on only once it hears the cue, just like a real scene partner.
Gap strategies
- Read then gap, gap then read, and gap-length presets. Make each pass as easy or as hard as you need.
Great value
- Line learning sessions are free. So if you record your own lines, or bring your recordings, you pay nothing.
Line learning, built for actors
Hide-and-reveal, first-letter prompts, mnemonics, and cue-based listening drills. See every way to get off-book, free.
A reader that runs the scene, interactively
Upload any script and the reader plays the other characters, listening for your cue and coming in on time. Rehearse, run lines, or just listen to the whole scene read aloud.
Meet the line readerListens and comes in on cue
The reader listens as you perform, recognizes your cue, and speaks the other characters in real time, so rehearsal feels like a real scene, not a timer.
It wasn't me. I was home all night.
Then who was driving your car, Danny?
Follows your direction
Set the pauses, pacing, and when the reader comes in, so every scene runs the way you hear it in your head.
(Looks up)
I never thought I'd see you again.
Listen mode
- Hear the whole scene read aloud with real voices, hands free.
Perform mode
- It listens as you perform and comes in right on your cue.
Follows direction
- Control delivery with pauses, silences, and pacing.
Fully customizable
- Tweak timing and when the reader comes in to fit any scene.
Self tape in-app
Reader runs your scene and the camera rolls at the same time. Run your lines with a partner that responds on your cue, then record your take without switching devices. Not off-book yet? The teleprompter keeps you on script.
Discover the self-tape readerReader and camera in one
The reader and the camera share one screen, so an iPhone or iPad is your whole setup. Run the scene on the same device that records you and capture a submission-ready tape with nothing to sync after.
You don't have to do this alone.
I'm right here. Say the word.
Whatever comes next, we face it.
Together.

Teleprompter when you need it
Not off-book yet? The teleprompter tracks your voice and scrolls line by line, so you can tape a clean take without dropping your eye-line.
I didn't come here to apologize.
I came to tell you the truth.
You can hate me for it later.
But you're going to hear it first.
Every last word.
Set up in under a minute

Your questions, answered
Feel free to contact us with your ideas or questions!
Is the Act-On-Cue app free?
Yes. The Act-On-Cue app is free to download and free to start. You get free credits to learn lines and rehearse; premium voices and extra sessions are available through a subscription or one-time top-up.
Is this a line learning app?
Yes. Line learning is built in: hide your lines and reveal them word by word, drop to first-letter prompts and mnemonics, or use listening mode to rehearse by ear while a reader speaks the other parts. You learn your part in context and build up to running whole scenes off-book.
Is this a self-tape reader app?
Yes. The app plays the other characters in your scene while you record your audition tape. It listens for your cue and responds on time, and the camera is built in, so you rehearse and record in the same place with nothing to sync.
Can I use it as an audition reader?
Absolutely. The reader responds to your cues in real time, not on a timer, so it works like a live scene partner for last-minute sides, monologues, and reader-based auditions.
Is it an app, or does it work online?
Both. The iOS app gives you the full experience on iPhone and iPad, including recording self-tapes with the camera. The web version runs online in any browser. Everything stays synced between them, so you can start on one and continue on the other.
Is the app available for Android?
The app is currently available for iPhone and iPad. An Android version is coming soon. Android users can access the full web version in any mobile browser.
Do I have to type my lines in?
No. Drop in a PDF of your sides (even a messy scan) or paste your script, and the app splits and formats it into a clean script you can rehearse from.
Can I use different voices for different characters?
Yes. Assign a unique voice to each character, matched by tone and accent, for realistic rehearsals. You can also record the other characters yourself or with a friend for fully human audio.
What iOS version do I need?
The app works on iPhone (iOS 17.6+), iPad (iPadOS 17.6+), Mac with Apple M1 chip (macOS 14.6+), and Apple Vision Pro.
